Yanya Rüşdiyesi'nde bir müddet bulunduktan sonra pederinin nezdine gitmekle bilmecburiye mektebi terk etmiştir. Belgede geçen ilk ve son tarihler: 1285- 9 Teşrin-i Sani 1333 (Hicri takvime göre Miladi 1868/1869. Rumi takvime göre Miladi 1869/1870- 9 Kasım 1917). Musa Efendi (Hacı). Konya'ya muzaf Erikli Kasabası'nda sakin Timurcu esnafından Mehmed Emin Usta'nın oğlu olup 1251 sene-i hicriyesinde kasaba-i mezkurda dünyaya gelmiştir.
