dc.description | Primarily includes correspondence between William Peet in Constantinople (Istanbul, Turkey) and Fred Goodsell in Aintab (Gaziantep, Turkey) about book and supply orders, questioning the policies of the old treasurer (Mr. Merrill), desires for a secretary because of Aintab's good atributes such as freedom and Turkish speaking Armenians, the political situation. Goodsell comments on how Muslims are arming themselves and the weapons are being stockpiled by Turks. He also talks of some people exciting the Christians into fighting against the Turks. İncludes letters forwarded by John E. Merrill in Aintab (Gaziantep, Turkey) to Fred Goodsell and onto Peet about the transfer of Smyrna orphan boys to Aintab College in order to continue their studies. They were previously under the care of the Deutsche Orient Mission. Also includes letters between Annie E. Gordon in Marash (Maraş, Turkey) and Peet about unreceivd letters from her sister and her impending furlough. | - |
