Note
A note from Arthur C. Boyce (Lucerne, 1910 July 23) explaining his delays while traveling, due to quarantine he is unable to enter Constantinople through Russia. A letter from Stephen Trowbridge (Ourfa, 1910 Nov 16) accuses a Hussein Paşa of buying the government and collecting taxes twice from primarily Arab villages. The Arabs tried to defend themselves in court but to no use. He belives that since Hussein Paşa is trying to take advantage that the previous missionary, Corinna Shattuck, has left. Trowbridge calls Hussein Paşa "the rich Turk," a "Kurdish lord of the worst type," and a "flagrant prince of old fashioned Turkish oppression." He also states that is the case is turned toward the station, he will bring the case before the American consul and embassy. İncludes a letter to Dr. Bowen (Constantinople, 1911 Jan 23) about property he wished to purchase in Costantinople and attached is a letter acknowledging the receipt from P. Peckover for the same property (Cambridge, 1910 Dec 12). An undated note to Peet mentions his large photograph collection of Egypt (F. P. Bowen)
